Arnold Musungu

Welcome!

I am a junior researcher and a PhD candidate in Agricultural and Development Economics at the Center for Development Research (ZEF), University of Bonn, Germany. In my dissertation, I study the effects of climate change on labor allocation, migration, and structural transformation in Africa. In Spring 2024, I will start a research fellowship at the Center for Effective Global Action, University of California Berkeley.  During the fellowship, I will study the causal effects of a teacher redistribution reform/policy on schooling outcomes in Kenya.

My research interests span education, labor, agriculture, migration, and climate change, with a particular emphasis on sub-Saharan Africa.

Before joining University of Bonn, I completed a Master of Science in Agricultural and Applied Economics at the University of Nairobi, Kenya.
